Son needs help with alternate names for school report.

Hello fellow gatherites...

I need your help with helping my son with his homework.
No, I am not trying to get tons of points for doing this,
but my mind is blank...lol..

Here is the topic:
He is doing a Report for his Health Class  
and needs help finding other names for Marijuana.  

He is looking for alternate street names for this illegal drug.

So, Please help us out and give us names of this drug.

Those are all the names that I can think of from back when I was in high school. I didn't do drugs as I never believed in them, but you can't help picking up a few terms here and there!

Well, I don't know of any, sorry. I was raised in a Christian home ( am still a Christian) & and Never got to experience the outside world til I left home & I just don't know. sorry.

I don't mean to be rude, but what kind of screwed up teacher gives their students the assignment of coming up with the various slang terms for street drugs? What does he or she hope they're going to learn from that?

Humboldt, nugs, smoky treats, party favors, blunt, cooch, downtown brown, seldom seen green, Mexican Red Hair, Acapulco Gold, Alaska Cold, African tumbleweed, splif, safety material, wacky tobacky, bud, Thai stick, endo, um, I would think of more but suffering from short term memory loss, although my glaucoma has cleared up nicely!

Cannabis, hash (derivative, but still marijuana), BC, Bag, mind blank, a-spare-a-grass, 420 (yep, that's the time/date), broccoli, trees, creeper, dank, ditch weed, hypo, homegrown, doobie, doober, herb, donkey, jay, shake (end of a bag, the parts that fell out), rez (from cleaning your pipe, rez hit, roach, gravity, skunk, pinch, pinchee (terms for small pipe to smoke one hit), one-hitter, bat

As for instrumentation, pincher, pinchee, Mr. Pinchers, pipe, bong, steamroller, bowl, piece, gravity bong, hookah, can.

And for other methods, brownies, spaghetti sauce, boiled butter, rendered butter, hence that will make... Special Shortbread cookies!, tea....

Ok, that, once again is all I can think of for now....

And for those that asked.. this is for health class and they are learning about drug awareness.... so that they can recognize when someone is trying to give them a drug they should not take... I even remember in School over 20 years ago that they taught this subject too.

Trish, I appreciate the clarification, but for the life of me I can't think of ANY drug, by any name, that any child should EVER, under ANY condition, accept from anyone other than their parents. I fail to see the usefulness of versing children in the proper street lingo. Whether or not they can identify what kind of drug they're being offered isn't the point... is it?

Your welcome Parke.. and it not necesarily the teacher as it is our govt who says what is to be studied in school...

And you are right that is not the point. There are kids out there though that do do drugs and are offering them to our kids who are preteens and sometimes younger. The school system wants to teach the kids not necesarily about the drugs themselves, but about what those drugs can do to you and how harmful they are...

I am sure there is more to this report than just naming a particular drug with it's street names as my son's teacher has the kids team up together to work on specific things. Or she has them break things down to teach them how to write a report.

Most recent one I've heard is "buda" (not spelled like the Buddha, I hope! since I'm a Buddhist). I haven't used the stuff since 1989. But I do remember people would go out and try to find some "loosies" (joints) or nickel or dime bags ($5 or $10 bags of marijuana). That really dates me, I guess. Anyway, your son knows it's illegal to even grow it yourself. And it's dangerous to buy it because it might be cut with something else (for instance, heroin). Hope this helps.

Oops - typo! What I meant to say was "Your son probably knows it's illegal to even grow it yourself." I mentioned that because some kids think if you buy and sell it, it's a crime, but if you grow it on your farm or in your back yard, it's just a weed. Nope. It's dope.
