They unveiled the new Steve Irwin talking doll today, and I am not quite sure how I feel about it. I felt bad when he died, and I couldn't figure out why someone like him had to go while we have so many scumbags left on earth.
I heard today that his wife ok'd the doll. It just makes me wonder if it is too soon...or should even be for sale at all?
My problem with Irwin was that he took so many unnecessary chances. He loved wildlife, sure. But in order for us all to appreciate wildlife, I don't need some guy to show me how close he can get before getting bitten.
I just think this is kind of a tacky thing to be selling. It's like making money from his death.

I do not know how much of each sale goes to charities and wildlife... but it would make sense that she would keep up his life work. Alot of interviews and things now say that they are going to pick up where he left off, the daughter and wife and the dad will keep on with his work. I have not seen anything about the son, but he is still too young to make his wishes known.
