In an rather disturbing trend, this is a popular way to commit suicide now. I understand some people do not wish to live any more, and frankly, though I would prefer they live, I do not want to interfere with other people's choice in this. None of us were given the choice of being born, we should at least have the dignity to choose if we continue to live. However, I am vehemently against hurting others or damaging property in the process. It's thoughtless and wrong. Governments of the world should provide places where suicide can take place quietly, serenely, properly supervised and recorded, and cleanly.

A JR train collided with a car at a rail crossing in Saitama at about 8:10 a.m. Sunday, killing one person in the vehicle.
None of the about 1,000 passengers on the train were hurt, according to the Saitama prefectural police.
The 10-car train was traveling on the JR Kawagoe Line toward Nisshin Station from Sashiogi Station. The train managed to stay on the tracks and operations were resumed after a brief suspension, according to East Japan Railway Co.
The car drove onto the crossing when the crossing gate was about to close, the police said.

The suicide persons do not care what life will be like for the engineers, or their families, or others touched by their own desire for relief. This seems unacceptably selfish, to me, but then again, if one is temporarily mentally imbalanced, then I suppose one could not expect them to think through the suffering that they inflict on others, or the karmic chain reactions.
Thank you for a most thought provoking piece! All the best to you.
No meaning to put anyone down, but our society is such a one sided society it is not funny.
