Not all ears

  I've been missing this place for about a week now...I've been feeling more than a bit off lately because I've been suffering from a lovely inner ear infection(for all of you who don't believe "adults" get these....DUH! or maybe I'm just an old kid, go figure). My balance is skewed, higher tones scare me, and I honestly feel like my head has gotten both lighter and heavier at the same time. It started last week, with a swelling below my ear, and what felt like just a blemish inside my ear that was draining and very painful. I seem to have a hard time communicating with my boyfriend, the seriousness of some of the problems I have. I HAVE lost hearing before from one of these, and I have to say...it scares me. Is it part of getting older? Many of my aunts/uncles do wear hearing aids(I wouldn't mind that, I guess, as long as I can still hear my kids--and could shut them off during disagreements!).

I really had someplace to go with this, but in between trying to do dinner, help with homework, and then getting them off to bed, I lost it.

Oh well. Nice to be back, if only for a little while.
