We are still staying with my friends, K and C, so thankful that they've opened their home to us and we have a bed and warmth and food.
90% of the area is without power, between 65,000 and 75,000 homes as well as businesses in Springfield.
In a small 2 bedroom duplex we have 9 people, three of them kids and we are learning a lot about boundaries and spaces and being forgiving and tolerant.
It is hard for all of us because we're not home and feeling alien in someone elses home and their routine is scrambled because of 5 extra people being here.
Outside is a wonderland, when the sun shines tomorrow I bet it will be sparkling and glorious. Today is still gray, it is snowing and fallen trees block roads and power lines are still down. We did read online that workers from Kentucky are here joining the national guard as extra help with getting trees cleaned up and power back on. That was cheering.
I was reading an email from a fellow homeschooler who said they'd stopped school for a few minutes this morning and ran outside, swords in hand, yelling, "For Narnia and for Aslan!"
That just made my day. I read the post to everyone here and we ran around the house yelling,"For Narnia and for Aslan!"
I feel much better now.
Later we will go outside and play Narnia. The kids are deciding who will be Peter and Lucy and Susan, etc. Something to plan and have fun with and enjoy. We needed this diversion.
Shelters are full, there are people doing the best they can in their cold, powerless houses and I am praying that we all survive this.
I wonder how long it will be before we have power? No telling at this point.
I'm thankful for God's faithfulness in the midst of all of this, for friends who have gone above and beyond the call of friendship and for the warmth I feel both outside and inside as we ponder thru this day, swords (fake ones of course if any one is worried) and eyes and spirits aloft, "For Narnia and For Aslan!"

Have fun playing outside. :) If you get any pics of the outside, post them. I love seeing pics of winter (since we don't see much of it in my area of Texas!)
I guess we're all getting our time to start learning more about community living...co-housing, the works. Bless you all.
For Narnia, and for Aslan!
I hope things get back to normal for you soon!
Do an update post with pics, please(for Narnia and for Aslan:)
