I am sorry..... you deserve better. What is he a professor of? Self centredness?

I totally feel for you and with you. This happens to me way too often too! Last winter I fought snow and ice and slipper roads to get to the college because no announcement was posted from the professor and he had my phone number, email, etc. The school remained open, which was stupid in my opinion. I saw MANY cars that had spun off the road because of the ice. Then I get to the school and ended up falling on their unshoveled sidewalks. I twisted my ankle, banged my knee rather badly and sent my back out of whack. I went to class and the professor never showed!

I emailed the dean of the school and he completely ignored my comments about falling and injuring myself and focused on the safety of the roads. he claimed that he'd been out in it and everything was safe and so he made the judgment to keep the school open. Yeah, college professors and deans aren't the best judges of weather, me thinks.

He does have a tendency to be rather self absorbed..... class was cancelled again today .... and no weather issues today ...and again, only a note on the door of the classroom.... I shall, I think, raise the issue.... surely, even if the prof's themselves can't be expected to post an announcement, the same people who put the notes on the door should be able to do it . It just isn't that hard!

Good evening, Flit, it's me, the professor. I'll have you know that self-absorbsion is not my cup of tea. In fact, I sat in my home office and thought about what a difficulty this would cause you and, well, decided to cancel again!

Just kidding, of course. I'm no professor. But do you wonder if the teach spends his 'snow days' surfing Gather?

Not something I worry about! Although, being a prof myself, I do recognize that it's certainly possible.
