I have this idea that books don't JUST have to be a great hobby off the bookstore shelf. I believe the fun can start for the READER the moment an author picks up his pen to start on a new novel.
I've been professionally ghostwriting books since 2001, and I've seen how much can be accomplished when the author (client) and the writer (ghostwriter) collaborate. In any collaboration, someone still needs to have the final say on what gets written, but the brainstorming can yield an improved outcome.
Today I've got a couple of my own novels underway, but I'm trying a new approach where I try to get readers involved in various ways. For instance, on one novel, I'll soon be polling all my readers on a certain topic that could end up greatly affecting the plot of the book itself.
I know that most writers these days use the internet to connect with their readers, but I think taking it to this new level of involvement could be fun for everyone. Of course I plan on keeping true to my artistic vision, but where readers can get involved, I want them to.
I'd love to have you join in on the fun too, so if the idea seems intriguing to you, please stop on by my site and take part! http://www.stevemccardell.com/my_books.html
