Lila the friendly ghost

My best friend believes that there is a ghost in her house. The woman that owned the house prior to her died in the home. She was ill and confined to a wheelchair. Her name was Lila. I was a little skeptical of this at first, but I have become convinced that it is true.

There are a lot of strange things that happen in the house that I just dismissed as odd coincidence. The main thing that she plays with is the stereo. If there is a song that she does not like, she will turn down the volume. My friend’s husband was playing AC/DC very loud, and I actually witnessed the knob moving.

Her husband’s friend spent the night, when his wife kicked him out after a fight. He stayed in one of the spare rooms upstairs. He is American Indian. He woke up the next morning and said that you have a spirit in your house. It is an older woman. She was on the stairs, and she did not want me to come down the stairs. She was protecting your children. She went outside, and joined another spirit of a young girl. They went out into the orchard.

My friend’s step daughter, who lives there part time, said that she wanted to get a window covering for the sliding glass door. This door is close to the base of the stairs. My friend asked her why. She said that every time she wakes up in the night there is a woman on the stairs. When she sees her, she leaves through the door into the orchard.

Lila has made her presence known in the home, and seems quite comfortable there. Her favorite place in the house is the stairs, which she was unable to use while alive. She does not like loud music. She is protective of the children. As long as she is kind and playful, my friend is happy to share the home with Lila.
