Not only have I been working on my next novel, I've also been doing some remodeling work on my house. So far I've painted the bathroom and installed about half the floor's worth of some beautiful green marbled linoleum tile. It took a lot to get there. First I had to mud in most of the walls and try to smooth out some really bad work by someone who'd done one of the worst drywall taping jobs I'd ever seen. And I've seen some bad ones.
I also started work on a serious edit or rewrite of my RPG, based on my novels. I haven't gotten very far yet, since I've had so much else to do at the same time. Wouldn't you know it? I'm trying to juggle way too many things at once. Nothing new about that.
I've had two books come out in the last two months--both of which have been well received by reviewers, so far. That's always nice, but it doesn't necessarily translate into sales. Not that sales have been terrible, but I'd like them to be better.
Of course, considering my goal has always been to become a full-time writer and get out of day job hell.
In the interest of pursuing that goal, I'm currently listed on the annual Preditors and Editors readers poll for favorite authors. When I first hit the list, I was up around number two. Since then I've slid to number seven and I'd really like to prevent myself from sliding any farther, and, hopefully, regain a few steps.
My wife and her website are also included in the poll, so I'd appreciate it if you could see fit to give her and it a bit of a boost as well.
