'Twas in the night -- the darkest night --
when Brother lost his mind.
I said I'd help him look for it
if he were so inclined.
He thanked me quickly; told me that
if men were all like me
we wouldn't need to seek for peace,
for war would never be!
I smiled at this, began to look,
and quickly I divined:
it wouldn't be where first I looked;
instead 'twould rest behind.
I reach in back and with a tug
I promptly pulled it free;
and now -- at last! -- I knew it well:
his mind belonged to me!
I pondered now in seeking how
his service I could bind,
then wrote a contract, offered it --
of course he quickly signed.
And now my brother's services
are manifold and free.
Just think about the state of things
if men were all like me!
