Senator Boxer's comment, taken in context, was aimed at pointing out the Bush administration's disregard of the soldiers in that we have not armed them correctly, sent guns that went missing and ended up in the hands of terrorists, plus we didn't have a strategy to secure the country in 2003, nor do we now.

And the Administration's commitment to the war? Hmmm....I think the Bush's have 2 daughters of military age.... And they are? Oh yes, "vacationing!" And Bush has raised taxes how many times so that the wealthy could give something to the war effort? Oh yes, none! In fact, taxes have been cut, with 90% of the tax benefit of cuts going to the upper 1% of the wealthy.

So....the commitment of the wealthy and the administration. Zero.

If I were a senator, I'd be a bit peeved about the commitment they have made too.

When will Bush apologize for defaming and demeaning all our European allies who correctly foresaw that an invasion of Iraq was far less likely to contain Saddam or reduce terrorists than the UN sponsored economic sanctions and fly-over surveillance.

Regardless of what she "meant" by her comment, there was no logical reason, no matter what context, for that comment. As I said before, since when does having children become a requirement for political office?

Is her question inappropriate? Probably. However, to a liberal or her liberal constituents she is a hero. Just look at the support she is getting from our liberal Gather brethren. Boxer is well on her way to getting re-elected. She is a smart politician.

I think Condi needs to call the ACLU and see if they will pick up the case against Boxers discriminating comments. Yeah right, what am I thinking. If the shoe was on the other foot, and some conservative said this about a liberal, then the media would blast it for days. And the ACLU would get involved. And people like Clark Kent would spit major dissagreement with the comments against it. Clark Kent, you always say you speak for whats right and just, yet you always find a way to defend your parties actions, no matter how offending they may be. It wasn't until this past year that Bush finally attended the service of a fallen soldier, which every wartime president before him has done. It should be noted, though, that it was over three years into the war and that it wasn't until the Press had mentioned the fact that he finally did.

And Clark was correct, he didn't admit to any mistakes. He said "mistakes were made, and the responsibility for those mistakes falls on me" -- a far cry from 'I've made mistakes and I am sorry for the Americans and Iraqi's who have died on account of those mistakes.'

Keep in mind that it wasn't but months ago that both Bush and Cheney told interviewers that they would not have done ANYTHING different if they could go back and change something about the way the war was carried out.

When will Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, architects of the worst foreign policy blunder in our history, apologize for their treatment of General Shinseki?

This was a career military man who spoke the truth to the Senate, (at the same time that Bush refused to share the documents -now acknowledged to be false and fraudulent -regarding WMD in Iraq)). For his honest appraisal, he was publicly rebuked by Rumsfeld (the dimmest Secretary of Defense ever) and piled on by the neo-con hangers-on like Wolfowitz who said that Shinseki was "wildly off the mark"

This week, Bush says "mistakes were made", we failed to secure the peace in Iraq, the number of troops was never sufficient, -and he apologized to General Shinseki and commended him for his insight, his courage and enormous dignity.

Yeah, right.

Can any of the "Friends of the Snorter in Chief" give ANY EXAMPLE of a Conservative apologizing in the last six years?

Defenders of the President are DEAD wrong again on this issue. It matters a LOT who is paying the price in Iraq and not just on a personal level. We are being told this is the struggle to determine the course of history, yet this war hasn't been deemed important enough to justify raising taxes or bringing back the draft.

So, who is paying for this war? Unfortunately it is those unfortunate enough to find themselves in the armed forces and reserves when Bush became commander in chief and future generations who will find themselves paying off this war debt. There are also hundreds of thousands of avoidable Iraqi deaths caused by our invasion.

Meanwhile some of today's war-mongering, rich, investor-types [in the likes of Haliburton] are actually profiting from the corruption and bloodshed. You all should be ashamed. This is immoral and un-American!
