So today is my last day at work until after MLK day. I took thursday and friday off to get caught up and possibly ahead a little in the class I'm taking. It can be tricky, because I'm supposed to write some kind of story relating to my business knowledge, yet I can't use much by way of my personal knowledge in my current job, because I work in the Records department of the same online university, so I can't exactly "talk" about students because of privacy rules.
I also want to do a little more cleaning and packing. Monday night I paid the deposit on my apartment for March 1st. My daughter had her last Math League meet-- finished 2nd in the school, 11th in the district. Beat by "the human calculator" she says.
Tonight is book club for a book I didn't read. My mom has the book, "Things I Hate About My Neck" but lent it to my sister, who is also in the club. If she had returned it, I would've read it, but it was not something I wanted to buy. But there are usually only half the people reading the book anyway. It meets every other month, and is more or less a reason to get together. The book is a bonus.
Oh, and I also set up my gas and electric in the new apartment. So I will have heat and light. I'll have to wait until I'm there to do cable and internet. We'll probably just use our cell phones for a bit. It's a two bedroom--the kids have the bedrooms, I have the livingroom. It's on the third floor-- both good and bad. It'll be a trek, and I have to feel better by then in order to go up and down the stairs a zillion times with the move. But there will not be anyone above me-- no "boom boom" on my head-- whether it is intentional or not.
