Hi,
This is a very inexpensive and easy recipe. It's easy enough to make up each time you use it, therefore you don't need the preservative.
If you're giving it for a gift, however, you'll be adding the .5% of Preservative, as letting it just sit and you'll also be making more than this batch (which can be doubled or tripled, etc), in a jar, waiting to be given.
Pumice Foot Scrub
2 Tablespoons Sweet Almond Oil (or other carrier oil of choice, such as golden jojoba oil, extra-virgin olive oil, meadowfoam seed oil, or another, if you have a favorite)
2 Tablespoons Pumice (I use the fine grain, there are that I've seen, three grades and I prefer the fine over the medium and larger grains)
1/4 teaspoon essential oil or blend of oils - good ones are the citrus scents, orange, tangerine, lemon, pink grapefruit, or tea tree is always good too, also the mints - peppermint, spearmint, cornmint or wintergreen. Or a blend of several. Lavender is also always good too.
Just before you'll be using this, UNLESS it's for a gift (see above), mix all ingredients together and that should form a paste. Rub and scrub them into your feet, it's wonderfully exfoliating. Be careful though as this can get a bit slippery till it's rinsed off - get into the shower or tub to finish your shower/bath and rinse off, then enjoy the way your feet feel (and smell!)
Sources that I used - Pumice, fine - www.soapersupplies.com (they also have a preservative that I use so as to save on shipping costs, LiquiPar Optima)
Essential oils - locally, your herbal store should have them or a health food store.

Thanks, everyone, I love making the recipes for people too and I KNOW I will start earlier in 2007, as I was making stuff and actually needed a lot more time than I thought I did.
Susan, you're turning into an aromatherapist! LOL

FYI - within the article you mention it is a Food Scrub instead of foot scrub, unless it is edible?
I did that, didn't I? LOL It's a typo, THANK YOU for letting me know, it's not edible, it's definitely a FOOT scrub, I'll edit it and add it to your group.
Thanks, everyone, and if you do end up making a bunch of things, you'll probably never want to go to a spa again, the things you make come out so much better. There "are" many chemicals in spa products, which is just wrong!
