This video will really make you think about whether you are teaching a course or actually teaching real people with their own personalities and experiences. This really touches the heart. In fact, it reminds me of one of my high school English teachers. I had written an essay on my adopted mom dying slowly of cancer. The teacher, who was often laughed at by the other students because she was far from pretty, told me I could come to talk with her any time about this. I never did, but the following year I noticed that she was no longer teaching at the school. When I enquired about her, I learned that she had died over the summer - from cancer. I can see that the teacher-student relationship can work both ways and is a very important one.
