Today was so great, I don't even know where to begin.
Let me start here. As you may remember, I am currently taking the first "meaty" nursing course. (Can I get a woot! woot!) And now our quizzes and test will have a NCLEX flavor. What that means is the multiple choice answer can have more than one "right" answer, therefore you must pick the most "right" answer. I was kind of nervous about this....not a whole lot....but definitely a little. So we had our first quiz today..........and get ready.....I got........a.....98!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW can I get a WOOOOT! WOOOOOT!
What makes this especially schweeet is this.... and I don't suppose what I have to say is completely nice....but here it goes. So for the past 3 mods there has been this "testing elite" Expert test takers. We had the same teacher for 3 mods....if you read the prior chronicles you may remember the teacher to whom I am referring. A friend and I would study eVeRyThInG for those tests although it was not completely necessary....for taking the tests. As a result, she and I got respectable Bs and had to listen to many an "A" maker 's boast and "if you only" and "if you would just focus on the test" crapola. She and I agree and both feel that if you only study for a test you will be missing out on a large amount of material that could very well appear somewhere else....so that was our strategy. Well my friends.....the worm has turned. She and I had the highest grades. wooot!!! And incidentally......the "A" makers.....they are in "B"ville now. (bad heather, bad heather) I am not glad that they did worse really....I am just glad that our strategy is working for us where it counts.
Ok so here is the cool part....
We have a nursing skills lab teacher. She comes in before we break for lunch. She looks soooo familiar. Everyone keeps saying this. But we all come from way different backgrounds so what is the possibility that we all have seen her......hmmm So we are at lunch discussing where we might have seen her, and this one girl says...I think I have seen her on TV. And the rest of us...including me...are like, yeah, ok Megan....suuuuuuure. We go back to class, and the new teacher want to know something about us and what our jobs are. Well, her turn comes, and she is clicking off some really interesting things. And just when you thought she was interesting enough.....she tells us she is an actress. She is an actress/consultant for Discovery Channel programs like Mystery Diagnosis, Psychic Detectives, etc.......I LOVE THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL. Can you believe it???? But it explained everything. Why we ALL thought we had seen her somewhere before. Megan WAS RIGHT!!!!!! Total coolness.
By the way....we are using stethescopes and thermometers......of all kinds now.
Look out World!!!
