The advent of the dopamine theory gives credence to the fact that this disease is, indeed, a true disability. While the study cited here was a relatively small one and larger studies have yet to prove that treating fibromyalgia with the same drugs used to treat other dopamine-related illnesses (like Parkinson's disease) is effective more than half the time, this recent discovery is certainly a step forward. It provides the basis for further study and the necessity for more funding to conduct similar studies.
