A Slap On The Wrist

I was watching the news earlier tonight and saw the most horrible thing. There was a preacher who's wife was found dead stuffed in the trunk of her car on a rural road a couple of towns over. He just made a deal with the prosecutor's offfice. His sntence is at least five years, but no more than seven and he gets credit for time served. So he will probably get out in three to four years. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He murdered his wife and is getting a slap on the wrist. I don't understand how in the world that this can happen. This judge and prosecutor have to have very little, if any conscience ( spelling ?) I would have to think that something could be done about this. I think that it is a little scary to have someone like this getting out and bieng on the streets. Does anybody know what they think can be done?

This happened back in 2004, she was only 39. It took this long to sentence him? It's probably another one of those cases where someone pulled some strings. Our government is as corrupt as the folks it takes into custody.

This crap goes on more than you would like to know about, and single mothers who write a bad check to the damn gorcery store go to jail.

Seen it too many times while I was working in the system. The term 'Justice System' is a joke.

Our justice system is very corrupt and unfair, but without the money to change things, there is nothing we as people can do.

Trish... there is everything you can do! In most jurisdictions, judges are elected. Do your homework on them and vote in those elections. Most people do not, and that is a big part of the problem.

someone can accuse a parent of abuse, because kids are screaming and playing and having a good time, take the kids, throw the parent in jail and they sit there for months on a lie while theives and robbers and rapists are let out to commit crimes again and again. This happened to a friend of ours. Finally he was found NOT quilty of doing anything, but CPS still won't give his kids back.
