Basically, since Ford has taken a proactive stance in support of homosexuality and the AFA has gotten on their case, Ford sales have gone through the toilet. Even the incoming CEO of Ford tried to buy a Lexus rather than a Ford product. So for all of you that support gay rights, now is the time to run out and buy a Ford. As for the rest of us, we know what we have to do.

Ford Sales Drop 13% in December
Company sponsors another TV scene of homosexuals kissing. View video clip below.
January 5, 2007Â
The AFA boycott of Ford Motor Company continues to impact its sales. December sales dropped 13% compared to the same period a year ago.
In December of 2005, Ford agreed to basically follow the path taken by Wal-Mart — remain neutral in the culture war over the homosexual agenda. However, Ford later reneged on that agreement after meeting with a group of homosexual leaders. AFA has continued to ask Ford to take a neutral stance like Wal-Mart, but Ford has consistently refused.
Here is a track record of Ford sales since the boycott began:
Ford also continues to sponsor TV programs promoting homosexuality. On a recent episode of Cold Case on CBS, Ford sponsored scenes depicting two homosexuals passionately kissing each other. Click here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A6uS49CfjEÂ ) to view the scene.
Despite the fact that not a single homosexual group has come to the defense of Ford, the company continues to support that agenda.
It appears that Ford is willing to continue its support of the homosexual agenda even if it means going into bankruptcy.

If there were homo-boys kissing in the back seat, I would burn it tomorrow!
Anyway, this type of boycott didn't work against Disney, so I don't think Ford has anything to worry about.
BTW, if it makes any difference, the last American made car I owned was a '65 Dodge Dart that I bought in 1967. It's a free market choice based on quality. I'd buy an American made car in a minute if I though it was as good as a Honda or Toyota.
The AFA is The American Family Association
They support things that I find un-American but you can decide for yourself by clicking on the link.
what do the rest of you have to do?
and why?
Are you to have us believe, Nanci, that there's no implicit hate in that statement? What the "we" is being urged to do could just as well be burning crosses on people's front lawns as it is boycotting an auto maker.
On second thought, that might not be such a good thing. Those people have wormed their way into many important aspects of our society and it would probably be a great idea for everyone to know what they are up to. (I stay on their mailing list so I can counter their campaigns.)
AFA = American Family Association (the word 'family' meant to disguise bigotry)
Is this that James Dobson's group? I know all about that guy.
sorry, i don't think you are going far enough
what you need are your own products and stores
jesusmobiles!
christmart!
virgin mary cola!
for all you do, his bloods for you
You might want to reconsider the use of that phrase in that context.
I doubt your kids are going to make a conscious choice about their sexual orientation. I know I didn't. I'm perfectly happy with being straight. Sexual orientation is like skin color or eye color. You don't get to pick.
Sorry Nanci, your colors are showing and it's not the rainbow!
Who the hell do these self-righteous turds think they are telling other Americans what they can watch, read, eat, or who they can love. Get over yourselves, commit to your families, insure your health and happiness but just remember at all times to live and let live.
I have had many conversations on gather regarding by beliefs about homosexuality and my relationship with homosexuals. They are two entirely different issues which you are all apparently too dense to understand. Krissy explained it well from her point of view and since I have spent hours in other articles I am not going to go into it again.
If you think I hate because my faith thinks homosexuality is wrong, feel free. Frankly, your opinion or condemnation is irrelevant to my life and my relationships.
The issue of whether they asked to sponsor that specific scene is irrelevant (and of course your question cannot be answered). What Ford HAS done is to dedicate a certain portion of its advertising budget to supporting/promoting shows, magazines, organizations that are dedicated to promoting homosexuality.
Ford specifically stated that they would take a sexuality-neutral position in their advertising. Essentially that means that they will advertise in mags like Time or Newsweek and support things like the Rose Bowl Parade. Gays and Straights alike read/watch sexuality/neutral magazines and programs.
Personally, if someone showed me that a company I patronize was entering into a major ad campaign with a group promoting S&M, I would have the same reaction to them. The company does not have to say they disapprove of heterosexuality.
We live in a consumer driven country. One of the only ways we can impact the decisions of a large company like Ford or WalMart or Best Buy is to shop or not shop there depending on our viewpoint.
If you go back to the top of the article, you will see that not only did I point out the boycott, which I happen to support, I suggested that if you supported gay rights you might want to support Ford because of their targeted ad campaign. That is pretty hateful, I know.
I can't completely follow the logic in your point about suggesting that those who support gay rights should also support Ford. If I were in the market for a car, had narrowed my choices down to two cars, something like this would influence my decision. To assume that I should support a company because of an ad instead of basing my decision on the quality of their product and the way they treat their employees and community insinuates that I am shallow.
I highly doubt the slowdown in Ford sales has anything to do with the homosexual kissing scene. The number of people who would actually know about that is small. We've got other issues with our economy and higher gas prices causing people to look towards more fuel-efficient cars, which Ford sucks at compared to Toyota.
"jesusmobiles!
christmart!
virgin mary cola!
for all you do, his bloods for you"
HILARIOUS...but actually, from a marketing standpoint, not a bad idea.
As for your first question, I would not want my child to see two men or two women kissing under any circumstances. I would make a decision on whether I wanted them to see a heterosexual kiss based on the context. If they were showing overtly sexual behaviours, I would not allow my children to see them. I would not want my children to see anything that I felt was beyond their ability to process at their particular age level. I would not want them to see excessive violence either. I feel strongly that it is the responsibility of a parent to protect their child from anything they consider inappropriate. But then, I don't want to see any of the above things either.
You were not hate mongering, bigoted, or any of the sorts. The words of that came from redue commentors who wanted to show you in a different light.
Sandy, yes for someone to make a decision to buy because a company does, or does not support a certain agenda, or ideal, should not be the reason why you would, as an normal thinking adult one of their products. I agree it would be a very shallow thinkin gprocess. You are correct.
A good article to bring to light the thinking of people, and how it affects a large corporation, even Ford.
Thank you Nanci
The show is about people walking into situations and being pushed for a certain amount of time. If the person chooses to remain calm and not curse, punch, or call the police, he or she is given $100 for their apparent home training.
I will make my point quickly, as I tend to get long-winded and I see the possibility of discussions with you might bring me amusement. I have a question which I hope you can answer. What is the homosexual agenda? Is it an agenda that is any different from the blacks, the Jews, women, or any other genre of people? Sadly enough, my feelings are that you believe the black man should still be enslaved, the jews still gassed, and women, like yourself I assume, should still be unable to even determine their own places in society. The ultra conservative white male, the majority of the party which you support, has no desire to see a woman, a black man, a Jew, or a homosexual reach any place in life that might be equal to them. For all of us, threaten the old boy network.
To say agenda brings forth the implication of people hiding behind an underlying cause/belief, etc. Maybe we can say the woman's agenda was only to make more money, or the black man's agenda is merely to choose his own direction in life, or better yet the Jews' agenda was to merely stay alive. So, I ask you, if two people decide they want to share a life together, and we are a country that believes in a separation of church and state, then why should all men or women that want to love and be contractually obligated to each other not be recognized? Now, mind you, and sometimes conservatives are slow witted, I did say man or woman, not man and woman.
To go back to my comment on your trolling nonsense, I find your need to repress anyone who disagrees with your word, voice, or whathaveyou, to have all the similarities of our current leader that both whimsically and foolishly fires anyone that does not agree with his oil driven "agenda"! The sad thing is publishing articles like this and making the comments that you do shows that you're powerless in your life in some form. I truly believe that power equals security, acceptance equals justice, and belonging breeds insecurities. Your need to mute, exile, and openly belittle "agendas" different from yours shows your need to hide your own flaws. The key to life is this: different is merely different, not wrong or right, good or bad, simply different. Show compassion everyday to one person different from yourself and maybe this one act will free you from the binds of your own internal fears.
I think I surpassed the time frame set forth, and I get the $100.
Hit It!
what an odd choice of words.
I will treasure your response always bebe.
I would not be surprised that FORD supports the film because they all drive FORD trucks. lol
I think people are looking in their warped mirrors again for sure Nanci.
I understand what you meant, and I support your right to your view, and I saw no offensive intent on your part
A friend of mine works at WalMart Headquarters here in Bentonville, she told me the reason WalMart lost $$ in November was NOT because of the gay issue, but rather they discontinued "layaway".
broken down
hahaha-lol
But hey each to their own
Gm or Toyota only for me
I have 'reported' (flagged) this article because of the comments made within this thread by Isabella - the one and only Troll - Chambers. I feel that her comments are a violation of Gather's Community Guidelines.
"Nanci, you are obviously a repressed lesbian sadomasochist. I bet you have to try really hard not to think about your mother when you masturbate. It's too bad you were raised without love or kindness, and now you pervert true Christianity by using it only as a weapon but ignore everything that Christ taught about love. Whether you know it or not, Lynn is right about you. You are truly one of the most disgusting and pathetic people I have ever encountered. I've worked with schizophrenics who made more sense than you are. Why do you work so hard to make an ugly caricature of yourself? Is this the best Jesus can do with you?"
and
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! You only proved my point, and it's nice that Jesus finally did something worth a hades for your sorry excuse for a soul. You are one funny repressed mama masturbating old worn out bird. Unlike you, I can do anything I set my mind to and - surprise squawk box - I am quite successful. That would be why you don't see my posts all day and all night like yours. Good luck with the pursuit of alimony when your husband leaves you for someone who knows what it means to love. Unless, he's as much of a dried up old sea hag as you are. Of course, I should bow down to your clear and present brilliance. Obviously, you are an authority on the world of occupations, at least on Gather. You've obviously passed middle age, but you still think you have a chance at winning a star role on Mean Girls the tv show. But, just so you know, I'm blissfully employed and wouldn't dream of quitting my job. What exactly do you do with your days? How's hate mongering going for you?"
As those of us who live in Michigan KNOW first hand, the source of GM and Ford's problems have nothing to do with any support or lack thereof for gay rights.
As those of you who have come to know me have seen, I have strongly held opinions and I mostly enjoy the debate. It is the way that I learn what the "other side" is thinking and either hone or, occasionally {{{GASP}}}, modify my own thoughts. Sometimes things go a little over the top and occasionally I retort in kind. I am trying so hard not to though - that's a character flaw I am trying to work through - which is why I am trying to simply thank people who attack me instead of argue back. I believe that is the right thing to do.
I think most people know and understand my views on the GLBT issues. I agree with their rights EXCEPT for marriage. I think they should have some contract they can sign to make the legal rights that are shared in a Marriage contract. I, personally, believe marriage is for a male and female and it is a sacred covenent between them. Other than that I have no problems with the GLBT community.
We do have to seriously stop using the made in America slogan when many items that we consider American made are made elsewhere, while items We consider japanese, etc. are actually made in the U.S.
Now stop picking on my chevy...
Good point TJ.
Be gentle on the Chevy Randy. You nver know when it might fight back.
