Saddam Hussein is dead
Prayer hanging from his lips
Midst cheers and chants from men
Saddam Hussein is dead
My stomach twisted sick
The moment that I heard
Before a pondering thought
Neck bent I shook my head
I thought of all the lives
In terror day and night
Neck bent I shook my head
By proxy Pilot's guilt
Cannot wash from my hands
I want no part of this
By proxy Pilot's guilt
Left hanging by a thread
The broken press along
The killing shadows hope
Left hanging by a thread

Yes, all of us died. And we will continue to until we as a race forbid this kind of behavior uncategorically and refuse to allow it to happen.
About 2 million Iraqis have died do to our involvement since 1991, they all deserve our utmost attention, and for you, Saddam might represent that, and that is good.
Beryl, powerfully writ.
yes, dm and Mary, we all hang from the same thread after all.
Glad you all appreciate.
And HuJass, I wonder whom you think is feeling sorry for Saddam here? Strange take, but appreciated none the less.
It's strange. I feel sick and hollow when I think back on this event.
How can we "succeed" in Iraq? We failed as soon as we invaded and now we are left with nothing but horror.
Horror foisted on the Iraqi people at our hand.
Opened Pandora's Box.
I am, however, ready to vote. How many months until November?
This line especially hit home :
By proxy Pilot's guilt
Cannot wash from my hands
I want no part of this
By proxy Pilot's guilt
I agree with Patty it was an unnecessary death just as the thousands of American, English, Iraqi and anyone else killed in Bush's Holy War.
