Oh Those Tights!

I was looking through my old poetry (you know the racy ones) and found another piece I had written about what I see when exercising.  Don't see them as much as you used to.  I don't know...good?  or bad?

 


    Oh, Those Tights!


    Oh, those tights!
A profusion of colors
    In shiny Spandex
Bobbing up and down
    As bikers ride
cross the countryside


    Oh, those tights!
Worn by men and women
    At the health clubs
Fluorescent colors catch the eye
    Those abstract designs
Stretching  tightly over buns.
   

    Oh, Those tights!
Appeal to all ages
    Young at heart
Daring to risk comments
    On suitable styles
For bodys not quite perfect.

I wondered how they got those things on they were so tight. How they got them back up if the went to the restroom. Saw a young lady once they were so tight you could see the stiching on her under garments. They stopped making nylon pants, they lasted forever, my wife liked those. it wasn't often she could find clothes she could wear that would last very long.. Don't rememeber me wearing any thing tight. My uniform was pretty form fitting. I only weight 125 though, I thought I looked pretty good in it myself.

Sure do wish i weighted what I weighted in that picture of me in my unform.. I was on the go all the time back then, got married and sat on my behind and gained over 100 pounds. Could eat like there was no tomorrow and not gain an ounce. Got married and the ounces caught up with me.. ha ha ha.

My husband used to wear those when he would ride his bike. Only black ones though. Everything else is way too revealing. Or was. He is an old fat guy now. LOL

I can remember wearing them to exercise but I was also in my 20s at the time. You wouldn't catch me dead wearing them now.

I still have some black spandex tights that I occasionally wear in the winter for work-outs but with a long shirt over them.

I loved it, especially since I'm trying desperately hard to lose weight now that I've stopped smoking. I was looking at tights in the store back around Christmas, but just couldn't make myself buy any. A wonderful nostalgic poem.

Audrey, I'm a bicycle rider who is much larger than should be the case. I wear them because on a bike they make the rides significantly more comfortable. The only problem is the accidents! Apparently, when I have to stand to peddle, the sight of this huge fat ass staring people in the face causes them to lose control of their cars. At least thats how I choose to interpret the situation. I've been told that the drivers would rather drive into a tree than continue looking at.....
I saw a pair just yesterday and I had to shake my head in wonder....

Pter, we have RAGBRAI go across Iowa every summer and as 12,000 bikers cross the state you see much of this. I think they should all be entitled to wear what is comfortable fro riding. Some is good and some not so good but heck, I enjoy looking at all of them. Last summer RAGBRAI had an overnight stay here in Coralville and Lance Armstrong was riding that portion of the trip and spoke about Cancer research. If you have never heard of RAGBRAI I will have to post an article to explain it.

got some picture of motorcycle with women painted to match the bike., yes they were painted, no clothes at all, just painted women... looked really neat.

I worked costumes for many Shakespearean plays and the trick to getting on really tight tights is powder....powder the man AND the tights and they slip right on...there, now you know, aren't you glad?!? LOL
