I will be spending quality time with my daughter today. I am taking her to the DMV to get her learner's permit. How many points is that worth?

Joanne, this is the fourth time she is getting her permit. NOT her fault, all mine. I do not have the patience to teach her to drive. Driver's ed is not included as part of the curriculum in the high schools out here. It is a course that you take at the career learning center and far too expensive for me. A friend has kindly offered to teach her.

I am allergic to valium. Can I have ativan instead?

I once knew a couple (electronically, not in person), both of whom did some professional writing, who had built a den/work area/computer area in their basement. The wife told me that while sitting at their separate computers in this shared space, they often communicated with each other by email.

I wondered (though did not inquire) if they placed appointments for conjugal relations into their Outlook calendars.

Of if they just engaged in "cyber sex."

When my husband walks through the door, the laptop gets switched off until he leaves for work the next morning, or goes out of town... no matter how close to deadline I may be on a magazine article.

My kids, however, know that they can reach me quicker thru email than by phone. heh. They usually just want money anyway...

Points are imaginary anyway. You just have to imagine harder. Anyway isn't the real love and appreciation of your family (I am presuming you were paying loving attention to them) worth more than imaginary points?
