According to a local news report, “police responding to a disturbance at theMt.Sinai Jewish cemetery last night said that in addition to beer cans and other signs of partying found on the grounds, several graves had been maliciously desegregated.”
As a flaming liberal, I am all for cemetary desegregation. After all, if we create a little cultural diversity in the interred, it's bound to create a more interesting mix of visitors to the gravesites. Bringing people together is a good thing, dead or alive. I vote yes on cemetary desegregation!
I'm speechless! This really made me laugh right out loud! Perhaps those buried at the cemetary just partied to hard on New Years Eve and couldn't find their way back to their own grave site! Hence the desegregation and beer cans!
I've always been amazed at how worked up people get about dead bodies. I'm a radical agnostic who does not expect life after death. Dance on my bones, if you like. I would expect Christians for their own reasons to be as indifferent to the fate of their bodies. I don't want to be mean to grieving people of any faith or lack of faith, but whatever your loved one was, he or she is not in the bones.
Before desegregating our cemetaries, I suggest we consider all the implications and the true cost. This is just another tax and spend liberal media agenda item. We will to have separate shovels for those who keep kosher and those who don't, as well as a completely separate kosher for passover set.
