It was a sunny day, one custom made to laze around and let the dogs romp out back.
Spike, the youngster of the pack, is starting to become a little bolder in his explorations

especially when his good friend and protector, Buddy, is close at hand.

Rusty, the old man, prefers to find a quiet spot to rest and chew a rawhide.

Buddy though, is always keeping an eye on his whereabouts

since Rusty is HIS king.

Little Spike did not want to be left behind

though the big dogs were playing just a little too rough for him.

A few birds in a nearby tree noticed all the action

and one brave soul flew in for a closer look.

Soon the moon was rising in the afternoon sky and the air began to chill.

It was time for the pack to head inside for supper and a nap.

Your other dogs are very pretty too. How old is Rusty?
Did you have to re-size these before you published them?
delightful and heartwarming.Thankyou
Visionaerie - I hope you get another dog soon - there are so many out there desperately in need of a good home, and they do add so much to ones world.
Marsha - Right you are - no chance of getting tired of little Spike.
Kathleen - thanks for the vote of confidence about posting so many photos of the dogs - sometimes I wonder if I'm overdoing it a bit, but just can't help myself since they are such an entertaining bunch.
carolion - I'm still working on getting the photo story down pat - anything video is way beyond me though I do have a few great clips of Spike and Buddy playing together -- hmm, maybe I should put those up on Youtube.
Chris - actually, much as I would love to say Buddy being on a lead is for the protection of the other dogs, quite honestly it is because he can jump our 6 foot privacy fence and does so whenever the dog next door is out playing. Oh, and Rusty thanks you for the compliment ;-)
I used to have a customer who rescued a lab mix, Sandy from the town shelter.
First time home he had let her out for a min. and went to front of the house and there she was.He told me his fence was seven feet.
She never got that opportunity at my kennel.
Like i always say, "not on my watch".
She was a great dog and did love to play ball:)
Oh and wink, wink back at Rusty, sexy little man:)
how to use that new canera. Now you need to have some shots of the cats.
Equal billing!
AWWWWWWWWW!
You know what, Tonia? This is the first time I smiled all day - I have been in a MOOD from the bowels of Hell and now, I am grinning like a loon. Thanks, hon!
Of course, I want to see more pictures of the "children"!
Thankz for sharing; it looks like you had a wonderful day with your best friends.
