All right! Here we go with trying to format a comment outside of gather and then put it in.
This is bold! And a line of its own.
This is in italics and a line of its own.
This line is centered.
This one is justified right.
This one is a different font.
Now did any of that work?
The above was 'coppied' from an Open Office document
The following will be done with the tools in the Gather edditor.
a bold line.
a new font oops no way to do that I guess
bold and italic
No left justify No color choice.
Ok outside editor again
Color change.
WELL in articles it would appear that most things transfer from an outside word processor but almost none of that will
transfer
from an outside editor to comments. Why is that?

To get formatting in a comment, here are a couple of tricks. For bold, simply type <> but a b in the prompts, this places all text after the <> with b as bold. End the bodl command with the same, <> b in between the two prompts.
For italics, do the same. <> i betwen the prompts, say whatever you want in italics, then end with <> i between the prompts to turn off the italics.
I would show you, but when this comment displays, my example will be in bold, like this.
Same with Italics, use carrot prompt < then i then your words in italics then carrot prompt with i > like this
Kevin V. (threemenfishing.gather.com( has done quite a few guides for formatting in comments and in text.
Look him up.
good luck
