I've been reading some of the Conversations with God books by Neal Donald Walsch. One thing that is mentioned quite often is that we live our lives from a more enlightened place when we live from our grandest, highest, best possible vision of our selves. Neal suggests that, to get to that point, to describe yourself to yourself in detail -- how would you live, what would you do/eat/be if you were the highest vision of yourself? Once you know who you are on the grandest scale, you can strive to be that person.
The New Years holiday has always been a time when I choose to do some reflecting. This year, my reflecting will be on the grandest vision of myself. In the past I have identified the qualities I find most important, such as honesty, spontenaity, a willingness to dream, etc. But this goes farther, deeper.
Stopping with a description of myself would be like setting resolutions I don't intend to keep. The next step is the crucial step -- what would this grandest vision of myself look like on a daily basis? How would I treat people at work? Would I even have the job I currently have? How would I approach eating meat? Identifying these details will allow me to make changes and to live the grandest vision of myself.
I enjoy making collages and have been making a deck of cards as my own personal divination tool. To help me become the grandest vision of myself, I'm going to make cards to represent the choices I would make when living as my higher self. These will serve as a reminder, as I am certain I will forget on a regular basis and slip back into my normal routine.
Throughout the next year, and probably beyond, I'll continue to refine my vision of who I am and how I should live my life in order to be the person I deeply want to be. The cards I create will revise and change with my vision, but they will always be there to help me stay on track -- stay focused on a flame at the center of my soul that calls me forth to be the best, highest, grandest vision of myself.
