It has been reported that Saddam has left US custody and is on his way to his own hanging.

Well, the violence is just beginning. Saddam should be put to death ( and I say this NOT in favor of the death penalty for non War Criminal cases) but this is the beginning of a new phase of violence.

Although I am totally against the death penalty for anyone, I guess it is better that this all occurred quickly rather than dragging the situation out. However, the fallout is not likely to be a good one. Hold onto your seats, folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I think the people in Iraq have a new found sense of strength - they now know that Saddam will never come back to power. Many people are going to feel more free to support their new government.

I just hope American's and Iraqi's are cognizant enough to be thankful that Bush has brought about Saddam's death. Many good things will come from the war in Iraq, not least of which is Saddam's demise.

They just had a lengthy discussion about that on both CNN and BBC. In fact, it should be the precise opposite = if Iraqis perceive that Bush brought about this execution, it will give the impression that the government in Baghdad is a puppet regime. And it defeats the purpose or claim that Iraqi is a true democracy and in control of its fate.

CNN at this immediate moment is addressing this issue again. It pointed out that Bush is not making a public comment but a written one so that he will not give the impression that he caused this execution. This is the smarter move as Anderson Cooper and his guests are saying right now.

No, Republican's know when to clean house. That's what happened. And the Pelosi is in a leadership position is just icing on the cake. Look at her record of corruption already - and she hasn't even moved into her new office yet. Believe me, in 2008 it's on - and libs are going to be crying when they see the outcome.

I prefer a Republican president and a Democratic congress. It worked well all of those years. I don't think you'll see much change in the next two years. The Democratic majority isn't that great.

Meanwhile, back to the Saddam thing. Hell, I say it not our problem. The execution and method used is the Iraqi's business. I think capital punishment is justified, and it's their country, let them do what they want. A lot of Iraqi's rejoiced, but probably more of them hate their government more now and the U.S. for trying to make it model democracy.
