Please Help Me Decide

I have a dilemma.

 I will be moving within the next 2 months.  I am attempting to get rid of items now and pack items that are not of daily use.  I have sold a couple of items on a local county group and Freecyled a few items thus far. 

Here's my problem:  I am quite sure that the new house I move into will be smaller than the one I am in now.  With that said, I have 2 spice racks and I think I should get rid of one of them.  The 1st one is one my mother gave me about 5 years ago before she moved to Phoenix.  It is in the antiqued style that I love.  The problem is that it only holds 10 spices.  The 2nd rack is pretty plain really.  However, it can hold almost 30 spices.

So, do I go with the one I love or functionality?  Please consider that I will be going with the majority of answers.  I simply cannot decide myself.

Stick with love and store the other 20 spices in the pantry.
The smaller rack will work better in a smaller house, and you can put the spices you use most often on it.

I agree with Shawn and Audrey. Keep the one your Mom gave you.
When I moved from my house into a condo, I lost tons of kitchen space. u found a 4 shelf rack that fits over a closet door. perfect for small things like spices. There's all kinds of handy organizers out there. Maybe you could even attach your other spice rack behind one of your kitchen cupboard doors and keep both. LOL.

I have had several items that were my mom's and dad's that I have had to part with. My daddy died 16 years ago and I have tried to hang onto everyhting I can but if you hang onto the past you will not be able to have a future. You will clutter your life with things from that time and there will be no room for new stuff or things to begin your new life. You can't hold onto the past, just to hang onto those you love. The material things will not hold the memories and make you closer to them. If the newer spice rack is what you need then give the other one to another relative, or someone who needs it. Then if the other one is the one that fits you better, then give the other one away. Don't clutter your life with momentos...like me.

Stick with spice rack you love. You can always do like I did and buy a lazy susan for tyhe cabinet and store the rest in there.

stick with the one you love, unless you use 30 spices all the time, otherwise if you can hang one of the racks inside the cupboard on the door out of sight.

Ditto! It will be something you will always treasure and it IS useful, so it's not necessarily cluttering up your life or house. It can be something to pass on to the next generation as well.

I say keep both of them and if you find once you've moved you don't have room, keep the one your mom gave you.

Keep the one your mom gave you. You think its prettier, and when she dies, it will have even greater sentimental value.

Easy choice for me...always go with what you love. Find a little space in a cabinet or drawer for the extra spices. Or...take them both and give up something else. Special things will make you smile.

You can always use a drawer for your spices, definitely go with the spice rack that you love. :)

If there was a fire and choosing between spice racks was a matter of life or death... which would you take with you? Who needs convenience these days, it just makes life complicated!!

Definitely keep the one you love. If you need a bigger spice rack once youhave moved, pick one up that can be hidden behind a cabinet door.
