I had this one link saved in the tutorial section of my bookmarks. I don't remember saving it, but there it was. I clicked on the link to find a tutorial on painting starfields from scratch in photoshop. Again, I don't remember ever seeing this link before, but I have painted space scenes in the past and this sounds like something I would bookmark.
The starfield tutorial was quite good. It was much more complicated than the methods I used in the past (like my painting to the left "Charged Worlds"). Greg Martin's martin technique opened up so many more possibilities. I wanted to see what else he's done, so I clicked on his gallery and was completely blown away.
I think I have a new favorite artist. Dale Terbush has been one of my long time favorites, but Greg Martin might have just knocked Dale off his pedestal. Both are masters of light but Greg creates his work in the medium I have grown more and more fond of...the one this Gather Group is all about; the Digital Medium.
Take a look at Greg Martin's website. He's a wonderful artist and another perfect example of what one can create on the digital canvas.
I hope you enjoy his art as much as I do.
