I need to consider the past, before I step into the future. I do plan on making some resolutions for 2007, but only after careful consideration. Through the years, I've made many promises, and if resolutions were tangible, I'm sure I'd have enough broken ones to fill a good-sized room! There are always the standard ones, such as, " I'll exercise more; I'll eat better; or I'll love others more." These are all good ones, but for me, I need to nail it down specifically and put a strong chain of determination to it.
In the past thirty years, there is only one year that I actually carried through on my promises! That was the time I said I would lose some weight and grow my fingernails out long. As the year was nearing the end. the way I succeeded, was with determination, mingled with fear. My daughter reminded me, repeating almost word for word what I'd said, and prodded me into action. Afterward, we were both proud, and I was even more glad that I'd became a positive role model for her.
