Name 3 must see movies to rent on Netflix from the year 2006

Here's my challenge-I have to pick 3 movies to rent from Netflix and I would like to find 3 of the must-see movies of 2006 that are out on DVD.  What are your recommendations?  Are there any movies that I should see before the 2007 year rings in?  Convince me :)  Thanks!!!

What genre is your favorite? That might help other people in recommending the "right movies" for you. For me, the first one pops up is "The Lake House". I am going to buy it. I cried and cried.... It's a romantic story and doesn't make too much sense, but who cares!?!? Although you don't really have to watch this before 2007. I am going to look into The Lake House. I really like all types of movies with dramas being high on the list and then comedies, my least favorite might be sequels (the majority of them) and heavy action flics

I've seen a lot of DVDs this year, as this is my husband's only vice/hobby. No football, no hunting, no fishing. Just movies. Here's my top 3:
Friends With Money (chick flik) - great film with some unexpected twists and turns
The Inside Man (stars Denzel Washington) - one of Denzel's best. He matches wit with a very different type of bank robber
Glory Road an underdog basketball team hits the big time...reminds me of Remember the Titans.
This opinion comes with no guarantees, so use with caution. Hubby's napping now. When he wakes up, I'll find his top three.

Thank you! Sitting at home and watching movies is one of my favorite things to do! It's not a bad vice for your husband to have-especially if you like his movie picks :) I'm starting a list now of these movies and my three may turn into a marathon!lol I have not seen any mentioned so far

Hubby's up now. He recommends these:
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 (I know you don't like sequels, but...)
Failure to Launch
Talladaga Nights (I disagree here..)

Lake House - This movie was simply wonderful. It's a must see and must own. I also cried.

Cars - I absolutely love Pixar movies. I sware they are not made for children since the humor goes way over their little heads. This movie is simply fantastic from the animation to the casting voices to the humor that will have you laughing yourself to tears. There are so many funny scenes that I cannot pick a favorite.

Pirates of the Carribean 2 - Argh matey, you must see the first one in case you have not. This sequal is as good as the first. Which is a rarity. You'll swoon over Will and laugh at the antics of Jack Sparrow all over again.

I don't mean to be the "bad guy" but I didn't think Pirates of the Carribean 2 was that good. I LOVED the first one and I was a little disappointed at the 2nd one. Still, it was entertaining, but don't keep your hopes too high (otherwise you might get disappointed).

The other even worse disappointment is X-men 3 (The Last Stand). I LOVED X-men series but this one..... I was SOOOOO disappointed.

Sorry, you were asking for good movies but I keep talking about not-so-good movies....

That helps too! Okay-I'm making the exception for Pirates-even if it isn't 5 stars-just to watch Johnnie Depp be a big bad pirate :) Cars sounds great to rent w/the kiddies because I do like the adult humor thrown in movies like that.

I see a few second recommendations so I am taking note. I really like the mix so far-I can laugh and cry in the same night which will totally de-stress me :) Thanks and keep 'em coming

I can add one to your list if you like sports, specifically football. I just watched Invincible tonight. I thought it was excellent.

Just as an FYI: I watched Failure to Launch over the weekend. It was "ok," but not a top 3 must see.
