Will we? Will we have a white Christmas!? Oooh, I hope so!
Considering this is Minnesota, we SHOULD have snow on the ground, for goodness' sake. Thus far we've received (in the cities, anyway) .03 inches of snow. That's right, POINT ZERO THREE. It's just plain sad, is what it is. In fact, we set a record for least amount of snow for November/December.
Huh, and there are those who say there's no global warming. We're getting Kansas winters now in Minnesota!
The weather folks are predicting snow starting late tonight and through tomorrow, just in time for Christmas. Oh, I hope they're right!

Z (zooming downhill): WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I cannot answer your question, but maybe Meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley (on Midday today) can?
You're heard tho. It doesn't feel much like the holidays. Bleh. Didn't someone write about the lack of ground cover for animals (not to mention their ability to *cough* prosper and multiply *cough*) with these mild winters?
Kinda tough with no snow...unless you have wheels on the ol' sled...
SaaaalllllT!!!!
Pimp that sled.
I love snow. I figure if it's going to be cold, it might as well be pretty, and give us something to do, like ski or sled.
Yes, by late March, I'm usually sick of snow, but these past several winters have been so short that it's not that bad to have snow in March. I mean, when we used to get dumped on in late November, early December, then four solid months of snow was kind of long... but lately we seem to have at most three months with snow. It's WEIRD to this Minnesota girl.
It's still like that I hear...
You RAWK on the washboard, man.
Yeah!
We'd just watch the hills burn...
You can't steer them at all, so the ride down is awfully exciting!
p.s. Zelda, A fleet wing racer! Sweet!
*Zaxie laces up her old white ice skates.
Who wants to skate with me?
This one
Nobody wants to skate? We can play Crack the Whip!
I'm there!!
and there was always a hunky teenage boy "in charge" of the place, to keep the kids from running totally rampant. One time, I saw the warming house guy kissing a girl behind the warming house! Oooh! (They were both about 14 years old, but seemed like grownups to me.) I couldn't wait to kiss someone behind the warming house. Sigh. It never happened.
[Starts taking notes]
Please continue.
What a fun day!
I used to play "boot hockey" back in HS (intramurals) and through college...we used a sponge puck and I developed a wicked slap shot...it put the fear of God into players on the other team...
We used to play every Sunday night no matter the weather...from 6pm until the lights went out at 11pm...man, what a blast that was...
Thanks for the ... uh, snow!
Zelda, them metal saucers were the greatest thing since sliced bread!
Right now we have sleet/hail pebbles turning to snow.
Whee.
I'm glad I had my meeting at the humane society last night, rather than tonight. It's bad enough driving in rush hour traffic from downtown Mpls. to Burnsville, without adding icy roads to the mix.
I'm considering leaving work early, I'm almost caught up.
I live in the shadow of Mt. Diablo. I have no desire to get any closer the snow that occasionally falls there than the distance from my house.
Z-axe: (singing back-up) Hey-la, hey-la, Auntie's back
Okay kids, I'm leaving early. The dentist had five cancellations and they're waiting for lil' ol' Zpie to give her a crown.
Bye bye!
Oddly enough, she is popular, too...
Toodles!
What'll you have??
I think he was just checking to see if it's "Fat, Jolly Oprah" or "Thin, Cranky Oprah" this week...
Now look what you did! [backpedaling] I was merely flipping through the channels, yeah.. and I only briefly stopped on Oprah while I took a bite of popcorn. It's not like I like the show or anything... I mean.. come on.. what do you take me for? [glancing nervously around the room]
Guys? What are you looking at? What? Do I have a booger or something?
i miss snow. alas...
I was hit square in the mouth with a hard puck when I was in junior high...I had braces on my teeth and no mouth guard (not a hockey player).
I had to peel my lips from my braces...
I rinsed the blood from my mouth at the warming house...made sure I had all my teeth...and went back out to play...
Come along now Fricktard..
Steadman? Steadman? Is that you, Steadman?
the snow has subsided quite a bit here, but we're not out of the woods yet. Of couse, if this happened in March, we'd all pishaw it and take it in stride. The first snowfall always throws us in a tizzy.
