I haven't shared this with many but it seems a good time to do that.
What You Ask Of God
I was expecting my 5th baby when my husband was seriously injured. He was in the hospital for 4 months of my pregnancy and then came home and was confined to a hospital bed with a cast down both legs for another 4 months. I did a lot of praying. There was no income from his wages, but God answered prayers and his job was held for him. Many people were good to us during that time. I had to apply for Aid to Dependent Children and believe me being in a position to accept welfare wasn't what I wanted to do, nor my husband. He didn't qualify for Social Security Disability until we had a doctor's letter stating he would be disabled at least 12 months. When we did get that then the amount was not that large and the ADC payment was reduced by that much. We felt we were fortunate because God was seeing that we had what we needed.
Then, before my husband could get back to work, we found out our four year old daughter had cancer. It meant once again asking God to take care of our situation or show us what to do. He did that for us and eventually she was out of the hospital and after 5 years cancer free.
Then 25 years later she found out that she had another brain tumor. At that time she had been my driver because I was in a hip-to-toe cast for a severed Achilles tendon .and couldn't drive. God provided drivers for us. The day before she went into the hospital I gave her my plaque that said, "Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me that you and I together can't handle." She underwent surgery and the tumor was removed and this time is was not malignant. God spared her any serious side effects. She still has that plaque. The night before her surgery I gave it all to God and felt like he took the weight off of me immediately. I was at peace placing her once again in His hands.
What you ask of God in Faith will be provided.
