I would like to dedicate this poem to everyone who has lost a child. In the past couple of days I have read where some of my connections are grieving the anniversaries of children/babies who have passed on, and my heart goes out to them. i wrote this poem in 1995 when my little Maryanna Hope was stillborn, and this was read at her funeral. Today I hope it can bring comfort to others who have gone through the same.
Little one,
so sweet, so small;
You are tenderly loved
by us all
who knew you but
for a little while;
We will forever
think of you and smile;
A gift from God
in Heaven above,
showing His mercy
and steadfast love,
He called you
Back Home
and we feel such pain,
but rejoice knowing
one day we will see you again.
So good-bye, my baby,
please know you are loved,
But you are in a
Better Place,
with your Father in Heaven above.

I know the pain, the loss and the constant sadness. Still after 12 years, I think of her, imagine her growth, her beauty, how she would have progressed at school etc. My husband is a dress designer and often I wonder what styles she would have liked and what pretty dresses she would have worn. I have 2 boys aged 18 and 14. She was the last born. She died at age 2 months.
