Kohl's Is Coming To Florida!

Kohl's Department Stores will make its first appearance in Florida on Oct. 6, as it simultaneously opens 10 stores statewide.

The openings will be in Orlando, Fla., and nine other Florida cities and will feature specials and discounts during the day.

Kohl's (NYSE: KSS) plans to open 58 new stores across the country on October, including the Florida locations.

In conjunction with the Florida openings, Kohl's is launching its "American Beauty and Fashion Makeover" program. Designed to acknowledge Florida's female military personnel and wives, Kohl's will provide beauty and fashion makeovers to 60 military wives throughout the greater Orlando, Jacksonville and Lakeland areas.

We have Kohls were we live but I have only been there once when my husband wanted to stop to look at something. I wasn't impressed with the store and had no desire to go there again. I still like good old Kmart and Target.

Kohl's prices are kept artificially high so that they can inundate us with near constant sales. Their favorite is a buy one, get on for 50% off scam. Sounds good but if the first one is overpriced to start, you are saving less than 25% off the legitimate price. Not a great sale.

When they get down to 80% off, they are worth a visit.

I happen to be a total Kohl's junkie. You'll love it if you just give it a chance. Yes, there are constant sales but I think their prices are only slightly higher than other places. The selection and style more than make up for it. If you're really young, you can find the trendiest of whatever you would want. If you're like me, ahem, a little more mature, you can find things with a trendy flavor but that are totally appropriate for women of a certain age. I love shopping there. That's why I refuse to sign up for a Kohl's credit card.
