I had a group of cheaters, once.

Apparently, the whole lot of them would have benefitted from a class in "How to Cheat Effectively"

They were really bad at it!

Not only did they neglect to make even the most cosmetic of changes so that the files they all handed in would at least LOOK different, and they didn't change the file name to at least make it a ~little~ more challenging for me to find them (how insulting!), they forgot the #1 rule of cheating.

Find someone smart to cheat off of!

 The database they handed in - each and every last one of them - wouldn't have passed even if I hadn't divided the mark by 7!

that sounds like a real bunch of dolts! Someone needs to tell these kids it really is much easier to do the work yourself! LOL

Wonderful! My only time to cheat was with crib notes, in History class and I was caught by the teacher. The most humiliating part was she was my mother's (who was the music teacher on the same campus) very good friend. Taking pity on me, she called me aside afterward and said cheating was beneath me and not to do it again. I didn't, but I never forgot how much more embarrassed I was than ashamed to have cheated. Complex feelings, those.

When I taught I always gave them test that were different from each other. It was a pain but the fact that many would look up and say, "Hey, this is a different test from ____!" was always worth it.

Oh, I HATE that. It drives me NUTS when they cheat. Copy word for word and think I'm stupid. Ugh!
I don't know which would have pissed me off more, that they cheated in the first place or that they thought I was so clueless that I wouldn't notice their pathetic, obvious attempt.
