When you're upclose with death
when microseconds suffice to cover centuries
when gigabytes compressed into nanostrctures flash through
all the nine shades* of emotional riches going berserk -Jackson
Pollock style,
when words hide like scared rabbits,
when the monkey mind freezes like a snowman in Arctic,
when the yin and yang of questions and answers
cohabit unconsciously
when the river of mind turns to a placid lake,
when nothingness is a conduit to infinity,
when life's desert hints at microcosms -subterranean,
when contradictions merge black and white
into a cosmos of gray peace
the unceasing cravings die.

* Nine 'Rasa's according to the classic theory of drama in ancient Indian literature comprise virtually every shade of human emotional riches -these are according to Bharat Muni who was first to classify them. The Nava Rasas are :
* Sringar( Erotic )
* Hasyam ( Comic )
* Karunam ( Pathetic )
* Raudram ( Furious )
* Varam ( Heroic )
* Bhayanakam ( Terrible )
* Bibhatsam ( Odious )
* Adbhutam ( Marvelous )
* Shantam ( Tranquility )
Bharat Muni, explained these 'sthayi-bhavas' as 'Rati', 'Hasa', 'Shoka', 'Krodha', 'Utsaha', 'Bhaya', 'Jugupsa', and 'Vismaya'. These eight 'sthayi-bhavas' inspired eight corresponding 'Rasas'. Accordingly, 'Rati' is the root of 'Shringara'- love or amour; 'Hasa', of 'Hasya'- humour or comic sentiment; 'Shoka', of 'Karuna' - pathos and compassion; 'Krodha', of 'Raudra' - fury, wrath or anger; 'Utsaha', of 'Vira'- valor or heroic sentiment; 'Bhaya', of 'Bhayanaka'- fear, fearful, or that which strikes terror; 'Jugupsa', of 'Vibhatsa'- loathsome, loathing, horrible, or odious; and, 'Vismaya', of Abdhuta - dismay, amazement or marvellousness.
Later scholars added another rasa to create the 'Nava Rasa' ('Nine Emotions'), as they are commonly known today. This ninth rasa is 'Shanta' - peace or calm.

If you felt peace at the end, I think my post is a humdinger!
Cheerz!
Your poem suggests that you have had an NDE.
I would like to suggest that the deep understanding that results from such an experience could be used as a vehicle to advance human civilization. To that end, I have written the following:
HOW TO HEAL THE WORLD "FROM THE GROUND, UP"
It's basic: to "get along" with one another, humans must employ compassion, understanding, and forgiveness. These are products of enlightenment, the education humans need most.
Consider one characteristic of present-day conflict: violence toward others often stems from indoctrination by culture, religious beliefs, and feelings of victimization. So - what do our best minds do to counteract these attitudes? We respond by diverting resources to weapons, deterrents, and Intelligence.
ONE RESOURCE SEEMS PRIMED TO EDUCTE THE INDOCTRINATED. That resource is the estimated 100,000,000+ near-death experiencers, or "NDEers", that have personally become aware of the interconnectedness and shared-reality of all human beings. (Note that polls indicate that NDEers comprise 2%-3% of the world's population.)
NDEers claim to have personally experienced the spiritual existence that humans share. Despite coming from every culture, education-level, and social class, they believe in a continuation of consciousness after death, a golden-rule philosophy, and a spiritual reality that embraces everyone. They also believe in race- and gender-equality and that all human lives are important. They claim to know "who they are" in the "big-picture", a perspective that non-experiencers haven't had the advantage of directly learning.
Unfortunately, it's not an easy or speedy task to disempower such indoctrination by convincing people that NDE's and their implications are real. Therefore, for credibility purposes, instead of talking about blind NDEers that could see, and brain-dead NDEers that described their resuscitations, THIS message is being published to solicit comments from NDEers' perspectives regarding violence and human interrelatedness along with testimonies to the realities of their experiences. Recipients in every world-culture can compare this information to their own beliefs by reading these comments and researching sites such as http://www .iands.org and http://www.zargon.co.uk/Lancet.pdf.
Wide distribution of this information can start healing-conversations about human identity and violence. News coverage of experiencers "going public" could eventually create an unprecedented force for spiritual evolution and human unification, absent the divisive doctrines that currently separate us. If that happens, we may finally reach the definition of civilization - a state characterized by advanced levels of science, industry, culture, and government, all enabling human rights, humanity, and freedom. INDEED, ONE MOTIVE FOR PURSUING THIS IS THE FACT THAT COUNTERACTING SUCH POISONOUS INDOCTRINATION MAY BE THE ONLY PERMANENT SOLUTION AVAILABLE TO HUMANS.
This message can allow experiencers, from all backgrounds and religions, to address the critical issues. They can answer such questions as, "Does a spiritual force, or God, exist?" "If so, does he/she/it support ANY of the violence in today's world?" "Exactly HOW ARE people supposed to deal with their enemies?"
To proceed with this effort, readers are requested to participate in one of two ways.
A) IF YOU HAVE HAD ONE OR MORE NDE's (i.e., are part of a group expected to be approximately two- to three-percent of all readers), the following action could ultimately be beneficial to society:
Briefly write a statement of your feelings about violence and terrorism, adopted as a consequence of your experience(s), and include it as a comment attached to this message. Also, please send the statement to ndepeaceproposal@cinci.rr.com. Sent to you by return email will be a questionnaire that you can complete if you wish to participate further.
B) IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD AN NDE, please do the following:
Expand distribution of this message by inviting others to read it. For updates on progress of studies from collected accounts, please email ndepeaceproposal@cinci.rr.com and place the words "Study Results" in the Subject line.
Comments will be collected and may be publicized. They will remain annonymous if that is requested.
The first account/comment, appearing below, is from a family member of the author. It is included so that before comments are added, readers will have the opportunity to read at least one response to this message.
Thank you for your participation.
My NDE occurred after being accidentally shot, over thirty years ago, when in my early twenties. I told a visiting girlfriend to call the emergency number on the telephone and then slowly sank to the floor and lost consciousness. I suddenly regained what seemed to be full consciousness and saw life squad medics questioning my friend but getting little information because she seemed hysterical. I tried to interrupt them and explain what happened but no one was listening to me, which I thought was rude. I noticed that my husband was in another room with two policemen who were questioning him. He kept insisting he had been at work when I was shot.
It was then that I noticed my body lying on the floor. I realized that I was not in a body, but rather was something like a vaporous form, almost like a ball of light, and that when I watched my husband being questioned in another room I could see into the entire house from above everything. My body seemed like a lifeless thing and I felt no connection to it. I felt peaceful and totally without discomfort except for a feeling of sorrow, bordering on pity, for the people worrying about me since everything that was happening seemed unimportant. I also "knew" a vast range of things without knowing how I knew them. I knew that I could change my position by just willing it, and that I couldn't permanently leave the body until it was dead. I wanted it to die so that I could just leave, but knew that if the medics began to work on the body I was not going to leave.
The medics put my body on a stretcher to carry it to the ambulance. As they reached the back porch, I felt slammed back into my body, suddenly feeling more pain than I had ever experienced. The pain caused me to pass out the first of several times before finally receiving medical attention.
Up to that time, I had been a passive and very religious person. After my experience I felt no one could intimidate me because I saw everyone as the same. I knew that people are supposed to be accepting and non-judgmental of each other, and to let our love shine. Each person is supposed to be loving and kind. Until you have an NDE, you can't really understand that, because out of your body, you are pure love. When you go back, your human instincts tend to take over so it's difficult to maintain the experience of purity. It's easy to talk to a person who has had an NDE about what you believe but it's usually difficult to talk about that with someone who hasn't had such an experience.
I knew that my experience had been real because I later told my husband and my friend what I'd heard and seen during that time and they agreed that I couldn't have witnessed most of what I saw from the position of my body.
