Steve Clemon's has a whopper of a story today:
While reports of how far Bandar has gone in supporting Cheney's desire for military action vary, insiders report that Bandar has "essentially assured" the Vice President that Saudi Arabia could be moved to accept and possibly support American military action against Iran. Another source reports to TWN that Bandar himself strongly supports Cheney's views of a military response to Iran.
Read the rest here. You just had to know there was a Saudi stalking horse angle in this, didn't you? Some 'Allies' we got over there.

That consortium, for lack of a better word, that Liz asked you about the other day, you know all those super rich people and the connection between the Saudi's and the Bush family, did you ever get any info on that?
Like I said in another post, everyone involved here wants "Their Cake, and wants to eat it too". There is just one problem here someone, or more than one are going to have to make concessions in order for any semblance of peace and harmony in that region. And from the way things are looking we are in for some long negotiations.
Iran and the leaders of that country are playing a game that few have caught on to yet and if the world doesn't catch on soon and wake up, we are going to get "Woke Up" in a rather unplesant way
Sean I know all about the Sykes-Picot agreement. I wasnt talking about the geographical creation you jack ass. You tell me to get a grip?
Tax policy in America has lead to the importance of a region that has nothing to offer to the world but oil. Democrats/Republicans....all the same. Politicians run for office for the power. Power comes from money. Money comes from taxation. Is it any wonder that after Clintons tax hikes on fuel that the SUV boom flourished under his watch? He was credited with surpluses partly because of that.
Look before I get too political, our government relies heavily on oil generated taxation that they cant recoup on alternativ energy. If you cant see how that has made the middle east the issue it is then you have no intellectual credibility here.
I don't think it is too much to ask that you act in a polite manner while we discuss these issues. I in no way deserve to be called what you called me.
Second, I was working as an asset manager during the Clinton boom and I assure you that gasoline tax hikes had nothing to do with the SUV boom. And that those same fantasy tax revenues you mention had nothing to do with cutting the deficit. Much of the deficit reduction came from a windfall of tax revenue from CAPITAL GAINS.
And this:
Is simply incoherent. You are going to have to do a better job explaining yourself on this one because it makes absolutely no sense.

How am I not supposed to insult you for asking such an assinine question?
Heres an explanation I hope youll understand.. Oil is very cheap to extract and produce. Because of that it is easily taxed without causing financial pain to consumers. The price of gas currently, (depending on what state you live in), is about 40% tax. Imagine how much revenues the government takes in nationwide. Alternative energy such as ethanol cant compete with oil if the government added 40% to its cost in taxation.
The world doesnt need oil from the middle east. The American government does. Why? Taxation. Coherent enough?
Frankly I am not sure where this leads. But the idea of Bandar in cahoots with Cheney and Dubya worries me. Mind you, they are the three who cooked up the whole, 'let's invade Iraq' thing in the first place, as reported in Bob Woodwards second book on Bush. And as to Iran: as you well know I am very worried about what is happening there, right now as a matter of fact. But I will tell you the results of the elections as soon as I get them.
Taking the "not responding" card gives me great joy. Yes you have proven to be a jack ass. I felt guilty after I said it the first time but you vindicated my assessment. Thank You:):):)
We then must ask who will profit from our folly?
