In St. Paul there are the parks downtown literally dripping in lights, and the house on Summit that looks like a professional job. Across the Lake St. bridge there's the house on the corner of 32nd St and 41st Ave with lights set to music, just tune your radio to 97.9 while parked in front of it!
Where do you go for holiday lights in your hometown? Do you make an event out of driving around to see them? Got any tips for taking pictures of holiday light displays?

Hmmm, I might have to swing by the house on 32nd St. - sounds faboo.
My all-time favorite lighting display was long ago - a small cottage in the middle nowhere, completely outlined in red lights. You could see it from far away, and it looked like a miniature, magical holiday house. We'd drive out into the country to see it, glowing in the dark, surrounded only by prairie.
But remember the years of the energy crisis (late '70s - early 80s), when everyone was encouraged to NOT put up a holiday display?? It was the saddest thing ever! It took a decade for the tradition to truly bounce back from that misguided bit of conservation wisdom.
Anyway, there's several really nice displays all on the same street by my sister's house in Woodbury. It's in the "old" part of Woodbury, right on the border of St. Paul, and it's right behind the Country Inn w/ the Green Mill restaurant on I94 & Century.
Auntie! A limo without spirits is just a car with a driver. Thanks for the eastern suburb light tip.
