Last night I saw again your big brown eyes
You always look at the camera in big surprise
Whenever there's news of a shot or a blast
I see you as the camera swings past
There you are behind someone's skirt
I see your face all covered in dirt
Do you know that when I see you I reach out my hands
If only you knew how I stretch over your desert sands
I send you my love over wires and air
But you don't even know that I am here
If I could travel through time and space
I'd make a light shine from your face
Take my hands and let's go for a walk
We'll look around and we'll just talk
But I know that you'll just show me the last shell mark
And you'll tell me how you cry when bombs fall in the dark

For me this poem reflects your compassion.
This is a sad poem. I can't read it without my throat tightening. Children are made to be hugged.
What greater joy can there be than to see laughter in the eyes of a child?
Thank you for sharing this moment.
