Macro Photography is photos that are taken close up, it show details of small items, like insects, flowers and other small items.
Macro on most digital cameras is represented by a tulip. It usually very easy to find on your camera. Some cameras dont come with this feature but most do I have an old vivatar vivicam-10 that even has it. I didnt know what it was for back then but knew I could take some pretty cool photos with it.
Macro photos involve getting up close to what ever you are photographing capturing the detail on the item. Search the tag macro and see some of the photos that come up this will give you and idea of what a macro shot should look like. My coffee bean photo is a good example of how close up marco photos get, you can see the details of each bean. The flower macro you can even see the hairs on the stem of the flower. Details like that is what you are looking for in a good macro photo.
