Can Babies and Kittycats Co-exist? Old Wives say, No!

Around my daughter's house the answer is a resounding, au contraire!

In spite of the infamous old wives' tale that cats have it in for babies in the most nefarious way possible--being jealous, aka, catty--Violet and Grace are in process of proving old wives to be seriously off-the-mark in the baby vs cat debate.

Perhaps old wives should mind their own beeswax, says sassy Violet! Meow meow, seconds Grace (that goes double for me!)

You may have seen now-one-year-old Violet practicing her Cat Massage Service in photos here on Gather with the extremely sweet-tempered Princess Grace, aka Gracie or Gracie Kitty, as the willing subject of her ministrations and expertise.

Well, their relationship has blossomed through 2006 and is now quite a lovefest as you may see in the accompanying photos.

Warning: if you have a grump against babies OR kittycats, do not view these photos! I'm not kidding...do not view these photos. For if you view them--if you make it successfully through all three pics--you might have to rise up and out of your baby/cat funk and evolve...

Those pics are very cute. Cat can be very laid back when necessary. Gracie knows Violet would never try to harm her. They look like best friends.

My wife and I got a cat soon after we got together, and when the baby was born a few years later, the two became inseparable, even sleeping together, with no problems ever, he took all of her crap with dignity, even being dressed in doll clothes. He died last year at 15, and will be missed.

we had a cat that i say helped raise my three. she slept with them and watched over them at times she would try to bath them like they were her kittens. she was such an amazing cat she lived 14 years
