Welcome to the 'Sunday Help Series'...!
Let other Gather members help you with your Gather-related questions or problems.
Simply enter your question as a comment below, and I, or other experienced Gather members can provide you with an answer.
(it may not be the right answer, but at least it's free!)
You may also ask questions of other members seven days a week, in the Gather Help Forum, as well review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), located under 'help' in the upper right corner of any page on Gather.
Have a Great Sunday!
Please note: Responses will be given periodically throughout the day, and conclude at 10:00pm (EST). Some answers provided will reflect the opinions of Gather members, and may not be that of Gather, Inc. or its business partners.

"Help! How do I add animated characters or images to my comments?"
Answer:
Adding images to comments is quite easy. Unfortunately, you cannot use images that have been uploaded to Gather. Thus, your photos, clip-art or animated GIFs must be stored elsewhere on the web. Then, you link to those images using a simple HTML command. To include your own images, you may use a free image hosting service, like Photobucket.com to store your images for you.
Here is an example of the basic HTML command for an image. The same command applies to animated images as well as photos:
By default, all images are left justified. To center your image, add a centering command at the beginning of the HTML string:
Also, sometimes images are too big to fit within a comment 'bubble'. You can easily scale them down (or up) by adding a few extra commands like this:
and.... that's all there is to it!
There are many members on Gather that might be able to provide you with some guidance. I would suggest publishing your work, including the words 'Critique Welcome' in the title, or within the article itself. You might also consider writing an article specifically asking for assistance from the community. You will find many helpful members that might have the time and experience to work with you on 'brushing up' on your English and writing skills.
Good Luck!

(do you still need me to ask a question?!)
I am not certain of your exact question(s), but there is a lot of information available on Tags. I would suggest that Subroto review the FAQs on tags (under help in the upper right corner of any page), as well as a few articles written by David Cooperstein and Jennifer Hodge of Gather's Editorial Team. He may view these articles HERE.
Let me know if you need any additional help.

No...unfortunately, you must disconnect from them, and then request another connection under the new connection type.
I am hoping that Gather will allow us to establish (or change) the designation at some point without having to re-establish connections.

Thank you...!
Ya know...you might want to start thinking seriously about entering a 12 step program for image/animation addiction... ;-)
and thanks for answering my question!
I wonder if this is going to work...

In Photobucket, you must highlight and copy the 'tag' field. Then strip off the parts you don't need (anything other than what I have provided in my first comment above).
Keep practicing...you'll get it!

Want to skip over pages in article listings? - THIS will show you how.
Now, I'll try something that makes sense somewhere else.
THANK YOU :-)
Kevin R O C K S !!!
I'll try that once more here then....
It looks like you did it!!
As a tip, you can create an article and publish it to 'Just Me'. This will keep the article private. Then, you can practice these techniques within the comment section of that article, and the comments will remain private as well.
Way to go!!

Now what I don't know is how do you get people. I had people ask to be one of my people but what is the criteria? Do you get points for adding people? Should I just randomly select people to be my friend/collegue etc?
Thank you very much for any assistance you may be able to provide me.
I have remitted mail messages to each of you with answers to your questions.
Thanks!
