I love to ramble on about things I did not say, so I research quotes from famous people, or not so famous, and write opinions on or reviews of these "wise words." I strongly believe these quotes encourage me to freelance on the original idea, expanding the positive or negative avenues the speaker could have taken this statement on. Here is one by Ayn Rand--
"The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of opportunity."
Okay, I have repeated this quote but was not quick enough to voice it before this interesting and dark author received recognition for speaking it. These words of wisdom fell from her lips when writing as a woman, intrigued by the topic of everlasting life using death as the very requirement, was unheard of. You had to be especially creative, forging through mountains of criticism and rejection; while producing the very best literary fiction the market had to offer. Her opportunities made known in the imaginal realm she embraced with enthusiasm. I think she found this beyond the egoic prison some talents get buried in. Those restraints it was housed in could come out in fantasy and lore which enough avid interest to make a very decent living. Ayn freed herself from those shackles and produced an amazing series on the undead: adventures of.
For me demonstrated in my writing, the same sort of thing occurs. The inspiration comes from a variety of influential channels I tune into. The mind ‘sweeps’ come after I have cooked a good meal, cleaned the house, stretched with yoga and meditation deep-breathing session, listened to the radio for awhile, read another commercial fiction book . . . the ideas (rungs on this ladder of success) just pop up !
My world is an easel complete with computer keyboard, Windows XP, a duality--thinking & creating between both hemispheres of my brain, thanking and appreciating the concept and reality of how thought and action work= "sync_ron_icity", realized as an important element in where I am today.
Ayn forgets to mention that while climbing that ladder you do get tired. Life can throw anyone the obvious curve balls and catching is not always our best friend, so you dodge the ball by laying your body resting for awhile. Sometimes so tired you hang onto a rung of opportunity for a long time resting, and finally that opportunity gets metaphorically tired of you not doing anything about 'it', and wants to dissolve. You hang on tight though, real tight . . . and then boom its gone !
Well, it slipped right from your grip simply because it lacked backing and support by a patient, loving, compassionate individual truly looking out for your best interest. This discovery proved it was truly more slippery than bonded, so I was left with just clenched fists holding nothing but air and anger. This rung was never real sturdy anyway as it was built with false beliefs and less hope from a dualistic standpoint.
To be successful I have to climb up, out of my own unsuccessful approach. The art of my choice for income is to be an entrepreneur; no pretty picture most of the time but when the awe of those you helped in some way, finds you, a smile is shared. That knowledge strengthens my position with my fellow seekers of enlightenment which appreciate words of authors like Ayn Rand.
