As seen on Polinaut, MPR's politics and campaign blog: Pawlenty says he'll back McCain for President. Polinaut author and MPR reporter Tom Scheck notes that there is speculation that the two will be running mates.
Later on MPR Reporter Sea Stachura spoke with Gov. Pawlenty (on the record, natch, available via this Polinaut entry) about all the hubbub. Although I'm not certain how much of this is general talk and how much is paving the road, it is clear that Gov. Tim Pawlenty admires Sen. John McCain.
Would you vote for a McCain/Pawlenty ticket?

It won't happen.
The media likes bringing his name up because they are mostly leftward leaning and want the Republican party to lean left.
But if he did actually win the nomination, I'd have to vote for him.
There is no real Liberal Media. It is just another meaningless phrase used by the GOP leadership to whip their base into a frothing frenzy and get them to open up their wallets.
Emma and Jeff H, one could get the impression you're not fond of McCain. *wry grin*
And you Steve T? Do you think McCain is a media darling?
You heard it hear first.
So I jest, but you're the first person to bring up the third party candidate. Wonder if a successful run could come from the outside?
Pawlenty I believe quoted programs such as ours as being "gravy". He should try working in the trenches for about a month and not get paid. I would guess that
"gravy" would not be the term he would then use to discribe nonprofits for kids.
Infact I would venture to say, he wouldn't even take on this job, as there is no glory, no high salaries being paid, retirement packages, etc.
I'm sure McCain is just as much of an air-head, or Pawlenty wouldn't be backing him. Government officials should try living in the real world for once in their lives.
He is a pathetic shell of a man. Which, now that I think of it, will probably make him perfect for the Presidency these days.
"Reality has a well-known liberal bias."
No F****** way...
I MIGHT have voted for McCain back in 2000, but not now...
You might have voted for him in 2000 but not now? What changed?

Don't get me wrong his bill in theory is lovely but in practice it is like getting every business in America to report any obscenities uttered in their place of business to the thought police. What a joke.
And I certainly wouldn't vote for Pawlenty either. I don't think our state is better off then it was prior to his so-called leadership.
