A Gift Card Whine...

In some live chat or other I had suggested to TPTB that they offer higher incriments of gift card choices. Given that places like Barnes & Noble only allow you to use one per transaction on their website, it would be much more beneficial if I had one $100 gc for them than four $25ers. Yes, I realize you can call them to use multiples... but that phone call would run me about 2 bucks a minute. Hardly realistic.

Tom said it would be easy to offer higher denominations. I think he forgot to impliment it, though, so here is a reminder.

I'm begging here. Up the amount options. Please. I'll even grovel a little. Hell, I might even behave myself (for a week... )

Joining in the grovelling, and requesting a point "discount" for the higher amount cards. Right now, it's cheaper points-wise to get the $10 than the $25 cards (not by much, but for cheapskates at heart -- like me -- it adds up).

At the rate I acquire these points, I wouldn't live long enough to worry about raisinf the increment, but of course I agree with you in the abstract.

The odds of me being in Boston for a cruise are slim at best. It hurts nothing to have more redemption options, no?

Although... A cruise would be pretty cool.

I would have hoped that redemption options would increase with growth, but this does not seem to be the case. I didn't realize that I'm going to have trouble redeeming multiple Barnes&Noble cards when I get around to trying to use them!

Add that to not being able to post text that is readable from a Mac, and my disillusionment with the site is mounting.

I didn't know that you could only use one card per transaction online-that defeats the purpose of me trying to save up the $10 ones (which are less points). Maybe the changes will come soon-good post

In this age of instant redemption through the internet, I fail to see why we have to wait 30 days for getting the cards to us. My gosh, I even buy my airline tickets on line and print them up myself. What gives.

30 days? My cards have all arrived in just around a week of redemptions...

Steve, you can use more than one for an online purchase, but you have to call their number to do it. It is toll free for you... for me it is an International call. ohj.

Tom said they could easily add the higher cards... I wish they would get on that.

It's 1/100 of a cent per point cheaper to get the 25 dollar card. Just FYI: You divide 10 dollars by 625 points and it's 0.016 cents. you divide the 25 dollar card by the points and it's 0.015 cents. So that part of the argument doesn't make sense to me. But the larger amounts would come in handy in ordering. I've used mine in the actual stores with no problem, but then again I'm not near a BN all the time. :)

Gift cards always seem like an easy/good idea, but there's still a lot of underlying issues with them... but it seems to me that in the long run, if they only had to send you ONE card for $100 vs. 4 for $25, that it would be all around more economical. But that would just make way too much sense and of course, life just doesn't!! :)

I only get the $25 gift cards and have received them in under two weeks in snail mail. Also once they sent three of them in the same envelope.

I wish there were more options on the gift cards. I am probably going to try for the Home Depot one and I am not that big of a fan of that store. Does anyone know if they are going to be offering more choices such as Walmart, Target, Amazon, or anything else anytime soon?
