It seems like the recent storms have really taken their toll on many throughout the US. Yesterday, I walked outside at 6 pm only to be nearly lifted off of my feet from the winds and gusts of cold rain. The rain had pounded down all day and then the winds came, howling and ripping down tree branches. This morning my basement flooded to about 1 1/2 feet and took the pilot light with it. The plumber spent 3 hours clearing the basement and fixing the problem but we will not have heat until tomorrow at least. So I'm cold now and wondering how many others are sitting at home freezing. I'd ask about electric, but those people won't be online (which is even worse).
Anyone else have a storm story to tell?
