as you well know, princesses must be well-dressed...preferably in silky fabrics, sequined overlays, tiny straps, and bows. pink metallic shoes, or ballet slippers?
today, lillie got a special present in the mail from her gather gramma, mary alward. she was so happy - a very special disney princess christmas ornament set - she LOVES it, and wanted to go out and get a christmas tree tonight, so she could put her new ornaments up. instead, we colored princess things, and had princess tea, and dressed the part.
however, lillie's hand-me-down princess dress - the main one, at least - is looking a little weary of its duties. tonight, we gathered some fabric and ribbons and did our math. she's good at marking inches, lining the fabric up for cutting. with no pattern but her old dress, we measured twice, cut, adapted, ironed, sewed. sewed together, lillie handy with the scissors to snip the threads...

now, although it is a bit big, princess sea is dancing around the living room. angus, our cat, is terrified of her sparkling pirouettes. personally, i'd do just about anything to put a smile this big on lillie's face. well worth the work of a few hours!

Beautiful dress, such fun. so important to feel like a Princess and Loved, as Lillie does.
What I said before about making memories is reinforced here....Lillie will never forget these moments with you........
