Yearning
Whither wand'rest I
Save by the heaving sea
I dream of salt
And roaring surf
And there I long to be

Hi, Juniper. Your image Water on Rocks inspired the poem. I am indebted to your creative photography. Thank you for that and your compliments.
Thank you, Martha. That is nice to hear.
Hi, Lynn--I can't get away from the ocean for long; it's power and beauty draws me back repeatedly.
Of course, Terry. Large ship or skiff--as long as it's seaworthy. Thank you.
My pleasure, Larry.
Your poems by the sea are favorites of mine, Cheryl--and for the same reason. Thank you for that.
I agree with you completely, Laurie. Thank you.
I've done the same thing further north on the same coast, Ruth. To be soothed in the face of all that power seems a strange dichotomy, but it is SO true. To answer your question: with the exception of plying Pacific waves with the Marine Corps and scuba diving waters from Crescent City to San Diego I have never earned a living at sea. Nevertheless it is a great love of my life.
Definitely, Shawn. I meant every word in the poem. Whenever I'm away from the sea for long I find myself thinking about it. Thank you for the wonderful compliment.
thank you and 10 stars
love and light
A super place, David. Thank you.
Great, Atticus, I'm glad it struck a chord. The pull to the sea can be mighty strong at times.
Thank you, Raquel. I appreciate that.
