Princess Diana - has it really been almost 10...

Princes William and Henry are planning a concert in honor of their mother, scheduled for next July 1stÂ to markÂ the 10th anniversary of her death (even though she died at the end of Aug.). Elton John is expected to sing, and the princes are said to be approaching Madonna, Beyonce and Kylie Minogue to perform at the event as well.

I just can't believe it's been that long.

Yes , time sure has flown by ! Last summer I was looking up the words to the Eulogy spoken by her brother Earl Charles Spencer . He started off with those famous lines ." Wow, its amazing that that was 10 years ago. I remember I was playing tennis with my stepmom on vacation when we first heard about it...which would have made it less than a year since she'd been my stepmom...feels like it was longer than that.

It feels like yesterday. I remember seeing the headlines in the paper and sinking to the stairs in shock.

I was in a bar in Bozeman MT and I called home to tell my roommate to turn the tv on, she was one of Di's biggest fans.

I happened to be in London during the time when flowers were being laid at both her home and on the railings of Buckingham Palace. My teenage daughter and I had to be in the Mall, and walked down towards Buck House... the perfume of the flowers was overpowering, and the stench of those underneath the newly laid ones added another note.... I have NEVER seen so many flowers in one place...

I remember it well. I am not a Royalist (not many Scots people are..!) - but she definitely touched a chord with the British people.
