Which Hard rock band do you think is the best of all time? I'll list my favorites below. Some of these bands perhaps crossed over into Heavy Metal, Southern Rock and Blues. Solo artists are listed as well since they had to have a band to back them up. Oh yeah, I also considered some of the Hair Bands as well as some of the Grunge Bands.
Feel free to rate the bands below as well as to add some that I might have left off of my list.
AC/ DC
Aerosmith
Ace Frehley
Alice 'n' Chains
April Wine
Bad Company
Black Sabbath
Beasty Boys ( just joking)

Debbie...You're right about Tony losing the tips of his fretting fingers.
Blue Oyster Cult belongs on the list
Timothy - I do believe you honestly meant to put them in :)
Um, but Styx? Really? Hard Rock? I mean I know they're classic rock although I'm really not sure about that either. (No, I'm not a Styx fan even though I know all the stupid words to their songs)
However, if you are going to put Styx, REO Speedwagon and Poison as "Hard Rock" then you are also going to have to add Rush!
LOL
No really, you forgot to mention The Who!
And yes, how could I forget Rush.
The Who? Well, all of these bands did play some hard rock, but they also crossed over into the pop scene. I guess that is your point.
yorgo..The Stones.. another group that played some hard stuff, and crossed over into blues and pop.
It seems to me that the Hard Rock / Heavy Metal scene has gone somewhat underground lately.

Any more new bands that you know of ?
It's currently in preproduction and Dave Kushner stated they will be starting "trackin" in the next month.
G'N'R was also supposed to have a new album out named " Chinese Democrocy ", and that one seems to be on hold as well.
Australian Crawl - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Grateful Dead - AC/DC - Aerosmith lots of favs!
terry...I like that Steve Earle stuff. To me, he's sort of like the "Steven King " of music.
"Where the heck is H.G. ? Did his bike break down? "
Aaahhhh! You vely, vely, funny!!
*METALLICA*
I can't beleive that I left Metallica off my list !
You also forgot the women of rock! How could you forget Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and the girls of Heart etc.?
BTW, I just got back from a GREAT jam session. I'm writing an article about that one !
I don''t know if I can continue a conversation with someone who forgot Metallica, thaough! (I won't admit I didn't notice their absence 'til it was brought up! Man, it must be late!)
thus the name Lynyrd Skynyrd came about.
Skynyrd crossed the boundaries between southern rock, hard rock, blues and country. They wrote songs that anyone could relate to. They also blew " The Who " off the stage in London, England.
Syyx ? They rocked hard in the mid 70's. James Young had some very heavy riffs, then they added Tommy Shaw and things got heavier. But " Mr Roboto " was their ultimate demise.
Guns 'n Roses ? Those guys revolutionized rock 'n' roll.
Metallica ? Balls to the walls heavy and greats of all time.
Boston? I'm tempted to put them under "crap rock;"
Foreigner;
Heart;
PINK FLOYD!!
I would put REO and Styx under "crap rock."
Kansas;
Head East (crap rock);
Steve...Blondie ? Were you referring to yourself ? lol You're right though, most of those bands couldn't hold a candle to the likes of AC/DC and Zepplin.
Travis...Did they invite you ?
Korn
Shinedown
Pantera
and the god of all things rock- TOOL!!!
Thanks for the additions though.
Triumph
Rainbow
Judas Priest
vandenberg
Dio
Twisted Sister
Alice Cooper
Nazereth
Krokus
I swear they only have 3 or 4 CD's to play.
How much can you replay Ozzy, Stones, AC/DC, GNR, ZZ Top, Zeppelin...Zeppelin has been played to death since 1968, and they only play the 'top cuts'!
Rock stations need to dig out the 'deep cuts that only those who owned the albums could appreciate. Many of those 'deep cuts' could have been #1 singles!
Call your "radio personalities" (who have no clue about music, really) and ask them for some 'deep cuts' if you REALLY want to hear some good Rock!
BTW, I would like to add Robin Trower, Dio and Joe Satriani to the list.
Does anyone remember a group called "Savoy Brown?
also, there was a great band out of Syracuse called "805" back in the late '70's.
Bob Seiger has some sort of Cult like following around here among people my age. I guess that since has the long hair and beard, they think that he's a redneck ?
Jason...Color me Badd ? ha ha How about Cool and the Gang ? lol
Jody...Pat Travers...great addition.
Supertramp ??? hugh ??
And don't forget the Ramones
